Explore The East Bali!!! Pura Luhur Andakasa situated on the summit of Mount Andakasa, Angantelu village, Manggis district, Karangasem regency, at the height of 200 meters above sea level. From the city of Denpasar, the temple is located about 60 km or are located approxiametly 20 km east of Semarapura City, the capital of Klungkung regency. From Denpasar, this temple was reached in the distance around 60 km – the direction to the east, or 20 km in east the Semarapura city – the capital of the Klungkung Regency.

Pura Luhur Andakasa stana of Brahma is also known as ‘Ida Bhatara Hyang Tugu’. Brahma controlled southern region in the structure or the manifestation of Dewata Nawasanga or the nine manifestation of Hyang Widhi who inhabit the nine cardinal directions.

From the car park we walk along a path through the forest and arrive after a few minutes at a small altar next to a sacred spring where we gather holy water for the ceremony. Here we pray and ask for permission to enter sacred ground. We arrive at Pura Andakasa after having ascended a series of steps for maybe 10 minutes. Here we perform our ceremony and meditate on Brahma and the Divine Mother represented by Saraswati. The views and Divine presence fill us with peace and an appreciation of all things living on this most beautiful planet.

Not known for sure about the year of establishment Pura Luhur Andakasa. In the Papyrus Usana Bali, the temple estimated was founded by the Mpu Kuturan around 10th century AD during the reign of King Marakata in Bali. Piodalan or the temple ceremony in Pura Luhur Andakasa held once every 210 days or six month of the calendar of Bali, on Anggara Kliwon Wuku Medangsia. Once a year, precisely on Purnama Sada or the 12th full moon, performed the ceremony ‘Usaba Pengurip Bumi’
