Yeh Malet Beach

Explore The East Bali!!! Yeh Malet is one of the tourist destinations in Karangasem. It is situated at Antiga village, Manggis district, which is about 33 km to the west of Amlapura. Yeh Malet lies on the main road connecting Amlapura and Denpasar. Thus, this place is good for those who want to get rest. Here, visitors can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and also watch the traditional making of salt. In this area, visitors can also have swimming, fishing or jogging.

Yeh Malet is a stretch of beach where salt is traditionally farmed by naturally drying out sea water under the intense heat of Bali’s tropical sun. Despite the fact that sea-salt has become a popular ingredient for gourmet cooking and up-market spa treatments, many locals only make a meagre livelihood out of this simple home industry that has been passed down for generations.

The sea view that you can enjoy from roadside giving blue atmosphere from the environment. This dark sanded beach is also a favorite spot for the fisherman. You can see many boat or fisherman boats sailing here, because majority of the people are fisherman. Other interesting part of this place is the activity of the people in making salts traditionally. Even though the number are decreasing, but still there are some people who do this.

The wave rolling to the dark sanded beach with crystal clear water also inviting the local tourist to have a visit. With the long beach way, you can jog here and there are also stop over facility which located near the street and a parking lot. But with bad treatment on this place, those facilities surrounded with weeds and other wild plants but people still come here to enjoy the phanorama.
